In 2017, Julian and Rachel became part of the Daisy family when they opened Driving Miss Daisy Bersted after returning from South Africa, where they’d lived for 28 years. Julian had experience in Health & Safety management in the Gas & Oil industry, while Rachel worked as a Logistics Manager in IT.
After searching online for ways to assist Rachel’s elderly parents, who retired to Bognor Regis, they discovered Driving Miss Daisy. Rachel was struck by their motto, “We’re family when family can’t be there.” Although the service was unavailable in their area, they viewed it as an opportunity. They relocated to West Sussex four months later to establish their Driving Miss Daisy franchise, offering transportation services for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

They completed their training, obtained their Private Hire Licence, and their first “Daisy” vehicle on the road within eight weeks of arriving. As a result of the strong interest and high demand for their unique service, they soon had a second vehicle and companion driver. Their compassionate drivers provide door-to-door service, ensuring a stress-free journey for their clients.

Service users range in age from 12 to 103, and they enjoy spending time with each of them, as they all have a story to tell. The service also includes wheelchair-accessible vehicles to cater to individuals with mobility needs in the Bersted area of West Sussex.
