Areas Covered: Winchester and surrounding areas

Driving Miss Daisy Winchester was launched in October 2017. It appealed to us as it was a way of offering people practical support and, in turn, enabled them to maintain their independence. We provide a Driver Companion service in the Winchester area to many regular clients and work closely with their families; it is an absolute pleasure to be part of their lives.

We look forward to all our journeys and outings. Every client has a different need; some clients we see a few times a week, some once a week for shopping and a chat; some we accompany to hospital appointments, and some we only see every few months when we take them on long journeys to visit family and friends.

Currently, the team consists of two Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, two Driver Companions and one Companion. All companions are Dementia Friends, First Aid trained, and have enhanced DBS. We are also taking a Level 2 Qualification in Elderly Care and have Advice First Aid training from the Citizens Advice Bureau.
