Driving Miss Daisy Telford and Wrekin

Steve & Barbara Davies

Driving Miss Daisy is an assisted transportation and companion service. The husband and wife team, Steve and Barbara Davies, have owned and run Driving Miss Daisy Telford and Wrekin for over five years. They offer support throughout Telford and Wrekin and surrounding areas across Shropshire.

There is an increasing need to support members of our communities and help them stay independent and safe; and we provide a valued driving and companion service. Primarily assisting senior citizens, families and vulnerable people; therefore enabling them to live life to the full and stay independent and encouraging social interaction.

All of our drivers have private hire licences, and our vehicles are mobility enabled and fully wheelchair accessible. Each car can carry up to four passengers (or two/three passengers plus one wheelchair, depending upon its size).

Our companion drivers collect clients from their door, drive them to their destination; offer any required help they may need before we take them home; where we ensure they are safe and comfortable before we leave. We will stay with vulnerable clients at appointments if they want additional support, and occasionally, we take notes to feedback to the families.

Some other examples of the types of clients we support and the services we offer:

  • Senior citizens or people with disabilities who want to maintain their independence
  • Parents requiring assistance taking children to and from school or after school activities
  • Organisations that need to bring people to and from appointments or social activities
  • Assist with shopping
  • Companionship at home or when attending social activities, or during fun days out
  • Help taking pets to the vets.

Despite being a premium service, our pricing is very competitive; you’ll be surprised at how cost-effective we are. Therefore, please feel free to contact us for a quote tailored to your individual needs.

At Driving Miss Daisy, our client’s needs are paramount in everything we do; that’s why “we’re family when family can’t be there”.
