Driving Miss Daisy Sheffield
Hello, I’m Mark, and I head up Driving Miss Daisy Sheffield, a companionship care and bespoke assisted-driving service. We help people remain independent, mobile and socially interactive.
ABOUT ME
I’ve called Sheffield home for over 30 years, living here with my wife and two now grown-up daughters. We love the city’s diversity and charm, though we like to think of it as a bit of a best-kept secret!
Originally from Kent, I studied in Leeds and built a career in corporate marketing across the North, spending most of my time as a self-employed consultant. Over the years, I’ve worked in law, property development, and digital marketing —none of which, obviously, qualify me to be a Daisy —but at least I can give myself solid marketing advice!
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, playing sports (usually involving racquets or clubs), and exploring Sheffield’s green spaces and urban gems, ideally with coffee and cake in hand.
WHAT MAKES DRIVING MISS DAISY SPECIAL?
I am incredibly enthusiastic about what Driving Miss Daisy do. I can clearly see the value of the service, having experienced its benefits firsthand. I’ve seen the tremendous positive effect you can have on people’s day-to-day living just by ‘being there’ for them. For me it was with an older family member with mobility difficulties and other family members with more serious health issues, but it could be just someone you know or, perhaps someone somebody else knows, anyone really who might have mobility challenges or be socially isolated. It really does make a difference to people.
DRIVING MISS DAISY SHEFFIELD
Each job is unique and begins with a conversation and a client care audit. It is pre-planned, pre-quoted, and pre-booked according to each customer’s personal needs, time, and travel requirements.
Driving Miss Daisy Sheffield can also help relieve and supplement existing support services in the city, which has prominent teaching hospitals, numerous active community groups and medical and care organisations. My vehicle has a dedicated wheelchair passenger space, and I am fully trained and fully licensed by Sheffield City Council.
So, whether it’s sitting with someone looking at old photographs over a cup of tea and a biscuit, unravelling the internet, taking them shopping or accompanying them to an appointment, work, school or college, or even perhaps venturing further afield, with careful planning and a considerate approach, anything could be possible. I can help Sheffield residents with things they need to do, things they want to do, and things they’ve perhaps only dreamt of!
I always look forward to meeting new clients, seeing new faces, meeting family, friends or carers and certainly look forward to all the coffees, cakes, and journeys all over the city and beyond, and to having those amazing and interesting conversations, adventures, and enjoying shared experiences.
