I bought the Driving Miss Daisy Seaton franchise in 2018 because I had always fancied the idea of being self-employed; but I also wanted to do something that I felt was worthwhile whilst making a difference in my local community. As soon as I saw Driving Miss Daisy, I knew it fit the bill perfectly. My experience supporting my elderly parents made me aware of how difficult it was for them to get out and about whilst remaining independent. I felt that Driving Miss Daisy would enormously benefit them and many others in their situation.
I still love being a companion driver almost four years later, as no two days are ever the same. Throughout the week, I could be accompanying clients to Hospital/Doctors appointments, supporting them whilst out shopping, providing company on a trip out, or just providing a friendly face, having a chat, a laugh, and a cup of tea in the clients own home. I have some wonderful clients who have become terrific friends over the years.
We now have two Daisy vehicles and drivers and will soon be adding a third; which means we will be able to offer companionship and support to even more members of the local community. I can’t wait!
